The Premier Energy Corp. is clear in its financial terms, where it hardly carries out transactions that could generate any kind of relationship with entities that are unconsolidated or even a type of financial partnership. The entities are usually termed as ‘special purpose entities’. These entities are usually established so that they can facilitate arrangements of an off-balance sheet purpose. Premier Energy has been categorical in its clarity of operation that it hardly involves itself with these types of Special Purpose Entities at any period in terms of operations.
However, Premier Oil time and again enter into some contractual arrangements that many might see as off-balance sheet kind of obligations although they are normal within the daily course of engagement in the gas and oil investment industry. Premier Energy Corp hardly believes that it can be affected by these types of contracts in any material way and differently from any other similar company within the Oil and Gas industry. The company is set to unveil major plans for the drilling of seven new oil wells within the North Kopanskoye Field in the coming months, while trying to maintain a straight and clear investment measure in this Russian region.
At the moment, Premier Energy does not have a company hedging policy that has been put in place. Their collared hedges effectively provide Premier Oil with a protective floor that allow them to start sharing in movements of upward pricing to a certain fixed point. In addition, as the hedges have been designed for a decrease in the exposure of decreases in price, they are also able to have an effect in the limitation of the benefit of increase in prices beyond the expected. Premier Energy is however looking at a possibility of pursuing hedging in the protection of a certain production portion against any price fluctuations in the near future.
